Cassie is a transgender performer and playwright based in Sydney. She began acting training at a young age and has since taken on roles as a performer and director on various productions. She has always had a passion for telling stories through live performance and investigating less commonly explored parts of the queer experience. Her acting credits include Symphonie Fanatatique (Little Eggs Collective and KXT) Our Blood Runs in the Street (Chopt Logic and Redline), I Hope it's not Raining in London (Bearfoot Theatre), Hinterland (Young People's Theatre), Saving Daylight and Rent (Pantseat Productions).Cassie has a diploma of musical theatre and is a recent graduate of the 2020 HubStudio Ensemble. She was a part of ATYP's 2020 Fresh Ink National Mentoring Program for emerging writers. This year she is a part of the Montague Basement and KXT Laboratory program. She is also currently undertaking a Bachelor of Arts at The University of Sydney majoring in theatre and performance. In 2017 she co-founded a youth-led, queer theatre company in Newcastle called Bearfoot Theatre. There, she debuted her first full-length play in late 2019 Playing Face. The production toured to Sydney following its highly successful Newcastle season and achieved much critical acclaim. The show was awarded both Best Original Work, Best Dramatic Production and Best Director at the City of Newcastle Drama Awards.
