About Me

I’m a Partner at Blackbird, and I run our Investment Team, and our Melbourne office.The best part of what I do is seeing other people become their best selves, and I spend most of my work hours trying help people do that.I have two legend sons (6&2), and a legend wife who is a haematologist and I dedicate every moment I'm not working to them. I'm an enthusiastic but mediocre runner, and tennis player, who loves sport, and writing, and music.

At critical moments in time, you can raise the aspirations of other people significantly, especially when they are relatively young, simply by suggesting they do something better or more ambitious than what they might have in mind.

I invest in Australia's most ambitious founders.

What did you do before Blackbird?

Music journalism, law, started a digital agency, started a music website, started a healthcare company and worked at Boxee, MyFitnessPal and Under Armour.

What do you believe that others do not?

That LeBron James would beat Michael Jordan 1:1.

What companies have you invested in?

nura, XY Sense, Morse Micro, Culture Amp, Applied, Dovetail and Eucalyptus.

What projects have you led at Blackbird?

Startmate, setting up our Melbourne office and now heading up our Investments team.

What ideas are you excited by right now?

Healthcare. D2C consumer brands. A better world of work.
