Teirangi Klever is a Māori poet of Ngāti Kahungunu descent, and a recent graduate of the International Institute of Modern letters at Victoria University of Wellington. Born here in Aotearoa, but having grown up in the United Arab Emirates, she aims to craft narratives within her work that reflect her ongoing reconnection to her whenua and tūpuna, as well as drawing attention to the pressing issues facing the nation. With a passion for storytelling at the helm, she actively uses her poetry to educate, inspire, and ignite conversations on topics that matter most. She firmly believes in the transformative power of art and its ability to challenge the status quo. Teirangi is dedicated to illustrating a brighter future for Aotearoa, one verse at a time.
